Let’s make this as easy as possible…

I’m a hassle-free kinda gal, but I do things a bit differently from a lot of stylists.

So I’d rather tell you everything up front, so there are no surprises!

If you have any questions, you can always e-mail me.

Here’s the deal: I do flat-rate hourly pricing, with no gratuity.

There’s no price difference based on gender, hair type, cut or color. There’s no add-on charges for conditioning or clarifying treatments, toners or styling. There’s no wondering about how much to tip at the end.

How much you are charged depends on how much time it takes to do your service. You’ll know up-front what your session will cost, and we have a seamless check-out so you don’t need to worry about bringing cash or doing some weird Venmo thing at the end.

  • The main reason is to raise the professionalism of our industry. You don’t tip your accountant or teacher, and hairstylists are also trained, licensed professionals.

The second reason is to remove awkwardness for you, the client. Wondering how much to tip, if it will create resentment if you don’t tip enough, etc. My hourly rate sets my income level, and I don’t expect any more or less.

Thirdly, the tradition of tipping is rooted in racism and power imbalances. (This doesn’t mean I support not tipping people who depend on that income, just that I am grateful to be able to opt out at this point in my career. )

So I don’t accept tips, really! My hourly rate is set, so you can budget accordingly.

So what is my hourly rate? And how much time should you book?

My current rate is $110/hr. (Gratuity included, so mentally subtract about 20%, if you’re comparing to your previous tipped services!)

I book one-and-a-half hours for all new client haircuts ($165), to give me enough time to get to know you and your hair so we are not rushed. After that, I’ll let you know how much time to book for future sessions, usually anywhere between 1 to one-and-a-half hours. ($110-165)

For color services, I work efficiently, and don’t want you to have to spend endless hours in the chair. Most highlight maintenance appointments with a trim are two-and-a-half hours ($275), although if you’re getting new highlights or a big change we might need more time (up to 3 and a half hours, or $385.)

Remember, gratuity is included in this price!

If you are doing a brand new color service, or just aren’t sure how much time to book, please book a free virtual consultation.
